Welcome from the Chair
It is a great honour to be invited to be the chair of governors at Eden Girls’ School, Slough. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all. Our new school building provides a safe and secure learning environment for our girls enriched by an inclusive faith ethos. I hope to work with you in creating a school that will offer educational excellence, underpinned by the academic curriculum and focus on the Leadership specialism. Together with the Principal and Staff our key aim is to ensure that we educate the whole student, equipping them to play a constructive part in the local community and beyond.
The Local Accountability Board plays a key role in providing support for the principal and his Leadership Team, holding them to account for the quality of our educational provision and the outcomes of our students. We act as “critical friends” by holding our professional colleagues to account for all aspects of performance, from the expenditure of funds, to the academic achievements of our pupils.
As governors, we work in collaboration with the principal and staff to provide a strategic system to ensure that Eden Girls’ School meets the national and local agenda for education. We meet four times annually to oversee the work of our Education and Business committees.
Together with the Principal and staff, our key aim is to ensure that we educate the whole student, equipping them to play a constructive part in the local community and beyond as future leaders and active global citizens.
Eden Girls’ School, Slough faces a wide variety of exciting new challenges. I have no doubt that the combined experience, skills and knowledge of our Local Accountability Chair, leadership team and staff will ensure we offer the very best to all the members of the school community.
