EGS School celebrates seconde year of GCSE results 20Aug2020

The second cohort of pupils to complete their GCSEs at Eden Girls’ School, Slough have opened their results and are celebrating achieving outstanding results. Our Class of 2020 students are very special as they are the first cohort to complete the full five years in our school. They have set a higher benchmark for all future cohorts to follow.

  • 74% of students achieved a ‘strong pass’ in GCSE English and Maths..
  • 96% of students achieved a ‘standard pass’ in GCSE English and Maths..
  • 79% of students achieved the English Baccalaureate.

74% of students achieved GCSEs with grades 9-5 in English and Maths, compared to 43% nationally, and 79% achieved the English Baccalaureate, compared to 24% nationally.

Sajid Khaliq, Principal of Eden Girls’ School, Slough, said: “We are going through unprecedented times and these results are testament to the phenomenal team work, dedication, perseverance and sacrifices made by students, teachers and parents before and during the pandemic. Students have maintained a strong unwavering work ethic throughout their school years. This work ethic will keep them in good stead for their future life successes. I would like to thank students, teachers and parents for working together, to produce incredible GCSE gains for our children, significantly improving their life chances.

Amirah Abdillahi achieved the top grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, History, Religious Studies and PE. She also achieved grade 8 Computer Science.

Nabiha Mahmood and Mulki Dhaqane also achieved brilliant sets of results.

Bilquis Ahmed achieved the top grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Food and Nutrition, Geography and Computer Science. She also achieved grade 8s in Maths and French

Congratulations to Imaan Awan, nothing could stop her from achieving her goals. Imaan is testimony to her hard work and dedication and despite all the difficulties Imaan was able to pass with flying colours. What an inspirational student at all levels. Best wishes and good luck for many more excellent achievements in the future.

Anisa Mughal achieved the top grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Biology, Physics, Art and Computer Science. She also achieved grade 8 in Maths, Chemistry, Geography and Religious Studies.

Hijab Shah achieved the top grade 9 in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Religious Studies. She also achieved grade 8 in English Language, English Literature and Food and Nutrition.

Zahra Azim achieved the top grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Citizenship, Computer Science and Religious Studies. She also achieved grade 8 in Maths, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

Amelia Hussain achieved the top grade 9 in English Language, English Literature, Chemistry and Citizenship. She also achieved grade 8 in Biology, Physics, Geography and Religious studies.

A massive congratulation to Zainab Butt, what a superb set of results. There was no doubt that you would be able to deliver. We are so happy for your parents as they were waiting for this day eagerly. Today you are the champion.
